The VENTI LS163S is a liquid line filter drier designed for use in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It removes moisture, acid, and particulate contamination from the refrigerant circuit to protect compressors, metering devices, and other system components. With a 3/8-inch ODF connection and a 16 cubic inch capacity, this drier suits a range of residential and light commercial split-system and package-unit applications. Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC-R technician as part of a system commissioning, component replacement, or refrigerant retrofit procedure.
This filter drier is suited for liquid line installation in direct-expansion refrigeration and air conditioning systems. A 16 cubic inch capacity provides adequate desiccant volume for standard residential and light commercial circuit sizes. The 3/8-inch ODF sweat connections are compatible with common copper line set sizes used in these applications. It is commonly installed following compressor replacement, system burnout cleanup, or any service event that may have introduced moisture or debris into the refrigerant circuit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation liquid line filter drier for residential and light commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems using 3/8-inch ODF copper line connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC-R technician following proper refrigerant recovery procedures in accordance with EPA Section 608 regulations. Recover all refrigerant before cutting into the liquid line, and install the drier with the flow arrow oriented in the direction of refrigerant flow toward the metering device. Sweat connections should be made with dry nitrogen flowing through the system to prevent internal oxidation. Replace the filter drier any time the system is opened to atmosphere.
