The VARGUS 80343 is a helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal M6x1 ISO metric threads in a CNC machining environment. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a TiCN coating, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting conditions. The 3-flute design provides a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. With a cutting diameter of 0.1890 inches, a length of cut of 0.3740 inches, and an overall length of 2.2440 inches, it fits standard 1/4-inch shank toolholders. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed applications and aids chip removal in blind or deep thread profiles. Machinists and CNC operators in aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing install this tool.
This thread mill is suited for production and job-shop environments where internal M6x1 metric threads are required in a range of workpiece materials. The right-hand flute direction and micrograin carbide substrate make it applicable in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and similar machinable alloys. It is used in vertical and horizontal machining centers with helical interpolation capability. The coolant-through design is particularly useful when threading deep holes or working with materials prone to built-up edge. A single tool can produce the full thread form in one helical pass, reducing tooling changeovers.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with 1/4-inch shank toolholders and helical interpolation capability, producing internal M6x1 ISO metric threads.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or removing the tool from the toolholder. Verify that the machining center supports helical interpolation and that the programmed tool path matches the M6x1 thread pitch before starting the cycle. Coolant-through supply should be confirmed active before engaging the cut to prevent premature tool wear.
