The VARGUS 42248 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for internal UN thread forms on CNC lathes and threading operations. It carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, giving it strong wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials. Built to the 5LKIR insert style in the Mini L series, it features a 5mm inscribed circle, 2.4mm thickness, a 60-degree included angle, and cuts at 20 threads per inch. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators running internal threading on production or job-shop turning equipment.

The 42248 is suited for internal UN thread applications following ANSI B1.1:74 standards.
