The VANCO SCAT6-7GY is a Category 6 patch cable in a superslim form factor, finished in gray. Designed for structured cabling installations, it provides the high-speed data transmission performance required by Cat6 standards, supporting applications up to 1 Gbps and beyond for short runs. The slim jacket profile reduces cable bulk in congested patch panels and equipment racks, making routing and cable management significantly easier. Electricians, low-voltage technicians, and network installers use this cable to connect network switches, patch panels, routers, and end devices in both residential and light commercial environments.
This patch cable is well suited for data closets, server rooms, and structured wiring installations where space at patch panels is at a premium. The 7-foot length covers typical equipment-to-patch-panel or short device-to-device runs without excess slack. The gray color coding is commonly used to identify standard data connections within a color-coded cabling scheme, aiding in quick visual identification during troubleshooting or moves, adds, and changes.
Designed as a standard Cat6 patch cable compatible with Cat6 and Cat5e keystone jacks, patch panels, and RJ45 ports on network switches, routers, and structured wiring equipment.
Installation is performed by low-voltage technicians or electricians familiar with structured cabling standards such as TIA-568. No tools are required for termination as connectors are factory-installed. Avoid sharp bends below the minimum bend radius to prevent signal degradation. Verify patch panel and port labeling before seating connectors to maintain an accurate cable record.
