The VANCO SCAT6-3GY is a Category 6 slim-profile patch cable finished in gray. It is designed to connect network equipment in structured cabling installations where standard-diameter cables create congestion or restrict airflow. The slim jacket reduces bundle diameter in high-density patch panels, switches, and server racks. Cat6 construction supports Gigabit Ethernet and is backward compatible with Cat5e infrastructure. Licensed low-voltage technicians and network installers are the primary users, though the cable is also suited to IT staff performing moves, adds, and changes in commercial and residential structured wiring systems.
This cable is applicable in commercial and residential network installations, data centers, and telecom rooms where patch panel density is a concern. The gray color coding aids in visual cable management and lane identification. At 3 feet in length, it is suited for short equipment-to-patch-panel or switch-to-switch runs within a rack or wall cabinet. It is sold as a single unit and is ready to install out of the package.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard addition compatible with Cat6 and Cat5e patch panels, keystone jacks, and RJ45 switch ports in structured cabling installations.
Installation is performed by low-voltage technicians or qualified IT cabling staff. No special tools are required beyond standard cable management hardware. Verify that patch panel and switch ports are de-energized or in a safe state before routing cables in live racks to avoid accidental disconnection of active runs. Follow TIA-568 structured cabling standards for bend radius and strain relief best practices.
