The VANCO EVSP1017 is a 1-by-7 HDMI signal splitter that distributes one HDMI source to seven outputs simultaneously. Six of those outputs transmit the signal over UTP structured cabling, while one output delivers a standard HDMI passthrough. This configuration is well suited for installations where displays are spread across multiple rooms or zones and home-run UTP runs are already in place. AV integrators and low-voltage technicians install this unit in residential and light commercial distribution systems where centralized source equipment feeds multiple display locations.
The EVSP1017 is designed for structured-wiring environments where running long HDMI cable is impractical. The UTP outputs allow the signal to travel over Cat5e or Cat6 infrastructure to compatible HDBaseT or UTP receiver units at each display. The local HDMI output serves a display in the same equipment rack or cabinet as the source. This makes the unit a practical fit for multi-room AV distribution in homes, hospitality suites, classrooms, and small conference rooms.

Low-voltage technicians and AV integrators typically install this unit in a central equipment rack or closet. Power down all connected source and display equipment before making signal connections. UTP output runs should use quality Cat5e or Cat6 cable terminated to T568B standards; follow TIA-568 wiring practices for best signal integrity. Pair each UTP output with a compatible receiver unit at the display end before powering the system on.
