The VANCO CAT6-3BU is a Category 6 plenum-rated network cable designed for structured wiring installations in commercial and residential buildings. Rated at 500 MHz, this cable supports high-speed Ethernet and data transmission applications where signal integrity and fire-code compliance are required. The plenum jacket is specifically formulated to meet fire safety standards for installation in air-handling spaces, such as above drop ceilings and within raised floor systems. Licensed low-voltage technicians and structured cabling installers are the primary trades for this product.
This cable is suited for horizontal runs in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and multi-unit residential projects where plenum-rated cabling is required by local fire code. It is appropriate for Gigabit Ethernet, VoIP, and PoE installations that demand Category 6 performance at 500 MHz. The blue jacket color aids in cable identification during and after installation, which is common practice in structured cabling environments.
Designed as a standard Category 6 plenum cable compatible with RJ-45 keystone jacks, patch panels, and modular plugs meeting TIA-568-C.2 Category 6 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or structured cabling technician in accordance with ANSI/TIA-568 standards and applicable local fire and building codes. De-energize any active network equipment before terminating cable runs. Maintain minimum bend radius and avoid exceeding maximum pull tension during installation to preserve cable geometry and signal performance. Plenum-rated cable is required by code in air-handling plenums and should not be substituted with standard PVC-jacketed cable in those spaces.
