The VANCO 120238 is an HDMI female to DVI male adapter designed to bridge HDMI and DVI signal connections in audio-video installations. This passive adapter converts an HDMI female port to a DVI male interface, allowing technicians to connect HDMI-equipped sources or displays to DVI-compatible hardware without additional cabling. It is a single-unit connector-type component suited for low-voltage AV system work in residential and light commercial environments. AV integrators, electricians, and systems technicians working with display equipment, projectors, or media distribution hardware will encounter this type of adapter regularly.
This adapter is used wherever an HDMI output or input needs to interface with a DVI port. Common install scenarios include connecting an HDMI source device to a DVI-input monitor or projector, or adapting existing DVI cabling infrastructure to work with newer HDMI-equipped equipment. It is appropriate for both residential home theater installations and commercial display setups where mixed HDMI and DVI equipment is in use.
Designed as an OEM-style adapter for use with HDMI female ports and DVI male connections in standard residential and commercial AV signal distribution applications.
Installation is performed by AV technicians or low-voltage installers. Power down or disable the source and display devices before connecting or disconnecting the adapter to avoid signal disruption or port damage. Ensure the DVI male connector is fully seated and secured before powering equipment back on. Note that DVI does not carry audio signal, so a separate audio path must be planned when audio is required at the destination device.
