The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCV70338 is a Dash 338 Viton (fluoroelastomer) O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications where heat and chemical exposure are a concern. It measures 3.125 inches inside diameter, 3.5 inches outside diameter, and 0.1875 inches thick with a round cross section. Shore hardness is rated at 70, placing it in the hard range. Rated for continuous service from -15 degrees F to 400 degrees F, this O-ring suits demanding sealing environments in HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and industrial systems. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial mechanics are the typical end users. Each package contains 5 pieces.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial applications where contact with petroleum products, hydraulic fluids, and a wide spectrum of chemicals is expected. The fluoroelastomer compound delivers low compression set and low gas permeability, making it a reliable choice for vacuum service lines, high-temperature fluid connections, and fuel-system sealing points. It is also appropriate for use in pool and spa equipment where chemical-resistant sealing is required at larger-bore fittings.
Designed as a Dash 338 standard O-ring replacement for any groove or port sized to accept a 3.125-inch ID, 3.5-inch OD, 0.1875-inch thick round cross-section seal. Compatible with petroleum products and a broad range of industrial fluids and chemicals per the fluoroelastomer material specification. Not FDA approved for food-contact applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber, HVAC technician, or mechanic following the equipment manufacturer's service procedures. De-pressurize and de-energize the system before removing the old seal, and inspect the groove for nicks or debris before seating the new O-ring. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid prior to installation to prevent tearing during assembly. Avoid using petroleum-based lubricants in systems where they are not compatible with other sealing materials present.
