The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCV70240 is a Dash 240 Viton (fluoroelastomer) O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications where high temperatures, petroleum-based fluids, and chemical exposure are a concern. It measures 3.75 inches inside diameter, 4 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross-section profile. Rated hard at a Shore A hardness of 70, this O-ring maintains a low compression set and resists gas permeation, making it well-suited for demanding industrial and mechanical sealing work. Each package contains 5 rings. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial mechanics regularly specify fluoroelastomer O-rings for high-heat and fluid-contact service points.
This O-ring is appropriate for sealing applications that involve petroleum products, hydraulic fluids, and a wide range of chemicals. Its operating temperature range spans from -15 degrees F to 400 degrees F, covering most high-temperature service conditions found in HVAC refrigerant circuits, plumbing connections, pump assemblies, and industrial fluid systems. The Dash 240 sizing designation is a standard AN/AS568 callout, allowing direct cross-reference with OEM seal specifications. Vacuum service and low-gas-permeability applications are also within its rated capabilities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service seal for systems requiring a Dash 240 round-cross-section fluoroelastomer O-ring; rated compatible with petroleum products and a wide spectrum of industrial chemicals.
O-ring installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic, plumber, or HVAC technician. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing the old seal, and inspect the groove and mating surface for scoring or contamination. Apply a compatible O-ring lubricant sparingly before seating the ring to prevent rolling or nicking during assembly. Do not stretch the O-ring beyond the minimum required to seat it in the groove.
