The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCV2X8 is a round-cross-section Viton O-ring used to create reliable fluid and gas seals in mechanical assemblies, hydraulic systems, and process piping applications. Made from fluoroelastomer, this O-ring measures 8 mm inside diameter, 12 mm outside diameter, and 2 mm thick. It carries a hardness rating of 75 Shore A, placing it in the hard category. The fluoroelastomer compound delivers low compression set and high temperature resistance, rated for continuous service from -15 degrees F to 400 degrees F. It also offers low gas permeability, making it suitable for vacuum service. Plumbers, pipefitters, maintenance technicians, and industrial mechanics commonly install this type of seal.
This O-ring is well suited for static and dynamic sealing applications where contact with petroleum products, fuels, oils, or a wide spectrum of chemical media is expected. Typical uses include pump seals, valve stems, hydraulic cylinder end caps, and threaded fittings in both residential and light commercial mechanical systems. The round cross section fits standard O-ring grooves machined or molded to the 8 mm ID x 12 mm OD x 2 mm cross-section specification. Sold in a package of 25 pieces, this part is appropriate for shops and service fleets that need to stock a common seal size.
Designed for use in standard O-ring grooves sized for an 8 mm inside diameter, 12 mm outside diameter, and 2 mm cross-section thickness. Compatible with petroleum products and a wide spectrum of chemical media per manufacturer specifications. Not FDA approved; not intended for food-contact applications.
Shut down and depressurize the system before removing any existing seal or fitting. Inspect the O-ring groove for scoring, corrosion, or debris before installing the new ring. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or grease to prevent tearing during installation and to seat the seal properly. Follow applicable piping or mechanical codes for the system type being serviced.
