The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCS70FDA222 is a Dash 222 silicone o-ring with a round cross section, sold in a package of 25. It measures 1.484 inches inside diameter, 1.75 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick. The silicone compound carries an FDA compliant material designation, making it suitable for applications where food-grade or sanitary compliance is required. Hardness is rated at 70 Shore A, classified as hard. The material is rated for a wide service temperature range, from -80 degrees F to 450 degrees F, with good dry heat resistance and good weather and ozone resistance. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and equipment service technicians commonly install this type of seal.
This o-ring is suited for use in plumbing, HVAC, food processing equipment, chemical handling, and industrial fluid systems where a reliable static or dynamic face seal or radial seal is needed. The silicone compound performs well in dry heat and outdoor exposure conditions. It offers limited oil resistance, so it should not be the first choice in heavy petroleum or hydraulic oil service. The Dash 222 standard sizing makes it a direct fit in any groove machined to Dash 222 dimensions per AS568 o-ring standards.
Designed as a standard Dash 222 dimensioned o-ring fitting any groove machined to AS568 Dash 222 specifications. Compatible with oils, chemicals, and solvents as noted by the manufacturer; oil resistance is limited and should be verified against the specific fluid in service.
Shut off fluid supply and relieve system pressure before removing the existing seal. Inspect the groove for damage, debris, or corrosion before installing the new o-ring. Lubricate the o-ring with a compatible lubricant prior to installation to prevent tearing during assembly. Silicone compounds are generally not compatible with petroleum-based lubricants, so use a silicone-safe grease or water-based lubricant.
