The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCS70918 is a Dash 918 silicone O-ring designed for use as an O-Ring Boss (ORB) gasket on straight-thread tube fittings. With an inside diameter of 1.355 inches, an outside diameter of 1.587 inches, and a cross-section thickness of 0.116 inches, this round-profile seal provides reliable static sealing in demanding environments. Rated to a 70 Shore A hardness, the white silicone compound handles an operating range of -80 degrees F to 450 degrees F, making it well suited for applications that require wide temperature tolerance and good dry heat resistance. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals install this seal when connecting straight-thread tube fittings in pneumatic, hydraulic, or fluid-handling systems.
This O-ring is appropriate for residential and commercial installations where silicone elastomer is preferred over nitrile or EPDM due to its broad temperature range and superior resistance to weathering and ozone. The Dash 918 designation follows the AS568 standard sizing convention, allowing straightforward cross-referencing during replacement. It is particularly useful in applications with elevated ambient or radiant heat where lower-temperature compounds would degrade prematurely. Note that silicone offers only limited oil resistance, so it is not the recommended choice for petroleum-fluid or hydrocarbon-rich service environments. Each purchase includes a package quantity of 25 rings.
Designed as an O-Ring Boss gasket for straight-thread tube fittings conforming to the Dash 918 size designation per AS568 standard. Verify groove dimensions against the 1.355-inch ID and 0.116-inch cross-section before installation.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or industrial pipefitters working on straight-thread fitting connections. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or replacing any O-ring seal. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible, silicone-safe lubricant before seating it in the groove to prevent rolling or tearing during assembly. Because silicone has limited oil resistance, confirm the working fluid is compatible before placing the seal into service.
