The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCS70916 is a Dash 916 silicone O-ring designed for straight-thread tube fittings as an O-ring boss gasket. It measures 1.171 inches inside diameter, 1.403 inches outside diameter, and 0.116 inches thick with a round cross section. The white silicone compound carries a Shore A hardness of 70 and is rated for service from -80 degrees F to 450 degrees F, making it well suited for applications that demand a wide temperature range and reliable dry heat resistance. Licensed trades and mechanical contractors install these seals wherever straight-thread fittings require a face or boss seal to prevent fluid or gas leakage.
This O-ring is applicable in plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC piping systems where straight-thread boss connections are standard. The silicone material offers good weather and ozone resistance, making it a practical choice for outdoor or exposed installations. It also provides limited resistance to oils, chemicals, and solvents, so it performs best in dry heat, steam, and low-oil environments rather than high-petroleum service. Each package contains 25 O-rings, allowing technicians to stock enough seals for multiple fittings in a single service call.
Designed as an O-ring boss gasket for straight-thread tube fittings per Dash 916 dimensional standards. Suitable for use with oils, chemicals, and solvents at limited exposure levels; best suited to wide-temperature and dry heat applications.
A licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or pipefitter should depressurize and drain the system before replacing O-ring boss seals. Inspect the boss seat and thread surfaces for nicks or burrs that could prevent a proper seal before installing the new O-ring. Silicone O-rings should be seated dry or with a compatible silicone-based lubricant only — petroleum-based lubricants can degrade the compound over time. Follow applicable IPC or IFGC fitting torque procedures and manufacturer fitting specs for the specific straight-thread connection being serviced.
