The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCQH70212 is a Dash 212 O-ring with an X-profile (quattro) cross section, manufactured from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) at a 70 Shore A durometer hardness rating. It measures 0.875 inches inside diameter, 1.125 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick. The X cross section provides four sealing contact points instead of the two offered by a standard round cross section, reducing spiral twist and blow-out risk in dynamic and static sealing applications. It is rated for continuous service from -30 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for petroleum-based fluid and hydraulic sealing tasks common in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
This O-ring is suited for use in residential and light commercial applications wherever a Dash 212 seal is required, including hydraulic fittings, refrigerant service ports, pump housings, valve stems, and fluid-transfer connections. The NBR compound performs well against petroleum oils, hydraulic fluids, fuels, and water. The X cross section is a common upgrade replacement for standard round cross section Dash 212 O-rings in gland seats already dimensioned for the 212 size. Sold in a package quantity of 100, making it practical for shop stock and recurring service use.
Designed as a direct-dimension replacement for any Dash 212 O-ring application where an X cross section profile is compatible with the existing gland geometry and NBR compound suits the media being sealed.
O-ring installation is performed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system mechanics as part of routine seal replacement. Before replacing an O-ring, shut off and depressurize the system completely. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible lubricant — use only lubricants compatible with NBR and the system fluid — to ease installation and reduce the risk of tearing. Never roll or force the O-ring over sharp threads or edges; use proper installation tools or a smooth-edged guide sleeve when needed.
