The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90906 is a Dash 906 Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR/Buna-N) O-ring sold in a pack of 100. It measures 0.468 inches inside diameter, 0.624 inches outside diameter, and 0.078 inches thick with a round cross section. Rated at 90 durometer (extra hard), it delivers firm sealing compression suited to high-pressure and high-wear environments. The operating temperature range spans -40 to 250 degrees F. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in the trade, favored for its excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids, strong compression set performance, and solid tear and abrasion resistance. Licensed plumbers, HVAC techs, and industrial maintenance technicians reach for this material first when sealing fuel, oil, or hydraulic circuits.
This O-ring is appropriate for residential and commercial applications involving petroleum products, hydraulic fluids, oils, and similar media. Typical uses include sealing fittings, valves, pumps, and compressors in HVAC refrigerant circuits (on compatible refrigerants), plumbing assemblies, fuel systems, and general mechanical maintenance. The Dash 906 designation conforms to SAE and MIL-Spec standards, making it a recognized size across a wide range of OEM and aftermarket applications. The 100-piece pack suits shop stock, service trucks, and maintenance departments that replace O-rings routinely. Note that NBR should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors and other electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as ozone accelerates NBR degradation.
Designed for use with petroleum products and compatible media in systems requiring a Dash 906 standard O-ring with a 0.468 inches ID and 0.624 inches OD. Not FDA approved; not recommended for food-contact, ozone-rich, or strong solvent environments.
O-ring installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified mechanical technicians depending on the application. Always depressurize and isolate the system before replacing an O-ring, and verify the groove dimensions match the Dash 906 profile before installation. Lightly lubricating the O-ring with a compatible fluid or O-ring lubricant during installation helps prevent tearing and ensures proper seating. Avoid rolling or twisting the O-ring into the groove, as this can cause spiral failure under pressure.
