The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90458 is a Dash 458 O-ring made from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), the most widely used elastomer in sealing applications. It features a 14.475-inch inside diameter, a 15-inch outside diameter, and a 0.25-inch cross-section thickness. Rated at 90 durometer (extra hard), this O-ring delivers firm compression set resistance along with strong tear and abrasion resistance. Its Buna-N compound provides excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids, making it a reliable sealing solution across a wide range of trade and industrial service environments. Licensed HVAC techs, plumbers, and industrial service professionals install this type of seal regularly in fluid and gas handling systems.
This O-ring is suited for static and dynamic sealing applications where contact with petroleum products, hydraulic fluids, or mineral oils is expected. Its operating temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F makes it appropriate for both refrigeration-adjacent and higher-heat plumbing or mechanical service scenarios. The extra-hard 90 durometer rating is well matched to high-pressure or high-extrusion-risk installations. It meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards and ships in a package quantity of 2.
Compatible with petroleum products, hydraulic fluids, and mineral oil-based media. Conforms to SAE and MIL-Spec O-ring standards for Dash 458 sizing. Not recommended for exposure to ozone, direct sunlight during storage, or environments near motors or electrical equipment that may generate ozone.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or industrial mechanics during equipment service or overhaul. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing O-rings. Inspect the sealing groove for burrs, corrosion, or wear before seating the new O-ring. Avoid twisting the O-ring during installation, and apply a compatible lubricant to ease seating and reduce the risk of damage.
