The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90457 is a Dash 457 nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) O-ring rated at 90 durometer, making it an extra-hard elastomer suitable for demanding sealing applications. It measures 14 inches inside diameter, 14.5 inches outside diameter, and 0.25 inches thick with a round cross section. The 90-durometer hardness provides excellent compression set resistance along with strong tear and abrasion resistance. This O-ring is rated for continuous service from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F and is compatible with petroleum-based fluids and lubricants. Licensed tradespeople and maintenance technicians install this part in fluid handling, hydraulic, and mechanical systems requiring a reliable static or dynamic seal.
This O-ring is commonly used in HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and industrial fluid systems where petroleum-based media are present. Its large diameter makes it well suited for pipe flanges, large-bore valve bodies, pump housings, and similar assemblies requiring a high-integrity face or radial seal. The Buna-N compound is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in trade applications and is recognized under SAE and MIL-Spec standards. Sold in a package quantity of 2 per order.
Compatible with petroleum products and petroleum-based lubricants and fluids. Designed as a standard Dash 457 O-ring replacement for use in applications where Buna-N / nitrile rubber compound is specified. Note: Buna-N should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors or other electrical equipment that may generate ozone.
O-rings of this diameter are typically installed by licensed plumbers, hydraulic technicians, or industrial maintenance mechanics. Before installation, relieve all system pressure and drain fluid from the assembly to be serviced. Inspect the groove and mating surfaces for nicks, burrs, or contamination that could compromise the seal. Avoid twisting or pinching the O-ring during installation; light lubrication with a compatible fluid or O-ring lubricant can ease seating without degrading the elastomer.
