The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90455 is a Dash 455 Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N) O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications in systems that handle petroleum-based fluids. With a 13 inch inside diameter, 13.5 inch outside diameter, and 0.25 inch cross-section thickness, this is a large-format O-ring suited for flanged connections, pump housings, and similar assemblies. It carries a 90 Shore A durometer rating, placing it in the extra-hard category for applications requiring firm compression set resistance. The operating temperature range spans -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Sold in packages of two per unit.
Buna-N O-rings of this size are commonly installed in HVAC chillers, large pump systems, industrial fluid handling equipment, and plumbing manifold assemblies where petroleum-compatible elastomers are required. This Dash 455 size is a standard designation under SAE and MIL-Spec standards, making it a straightforward replacement in commercial and industrial maintenance applications. Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or industrial maintenance mechanics during scheduled service or component replacement.
Compatible with petroleum-based fluids and hydraulic media. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service part for any application requiring a Dash 455 O-ring with a Buna-N elastomer. Not recommended for use with ozone-generating environments, direct sunlight exposure, or incompatible solvents. Not FDA approved.
De-energize and depressurize the system fully before removing the existing O-ring. Clean the groove and mating surfaces to remove debris, old elastomer, and residual sealant before seating the new ring. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible petroleum-based lubricant to ease installation and prevent rolling or twisting in the groove. Follow applicable codes such as IPC or IFGC for fluid system maintenance as relevant to the installation context.
