The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90449 is a Dash 449 Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications across plumbing, HVAC, hydraulic, and fluid system service work. It measures 10 inches inside diameter with a 10-1/2 inch outside diameter and a 1/4 inch cross-section thickness. Molded to a 90 durometer hardness rating, this extra-hard compound delivers strong resistance to compression set, tearing, and abrasion. The black Buna-N elastomer is the most widely used O-ring material in the trade and is well suited for petroleum-based fluid environments. Each package contains 5 O-rings.
This O-ring is applicable in residential and commercial service settings where large-diameter seals are required. Typical uses include pump housings, valve bodies, filter housings, flanged connections, and similar plumbing or HVAC fluid-handling assemblies. The wide temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F makes it appropriate for both cold-fluid and moderate-heat service conditions. The compatible material designation covers petroleum products, making it a standard choice for hydronic, refrigeration-adjacent, and hydraulic service calls. It conforms to SAE and MIL-Spec standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service seal for large-diameter pump, valve, filter, and fluid-handling assemblies requiring a Dash 449 Buna-N O-ring with petroleum product compatibility.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified mechanic. Depressurize and drain the system fully before removing the old seal to avoid fluid release or injury. Lubricate the O-ring lightly with a compatible lubricant prior to seating to reduce the risk of tearing during assembly. Store unused O-rings away from direct sunlight, ozone sources, and electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as exposure degrades NBR elastomers over time.
