The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90267 is a Dash 267 Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) O-ring rated for continuous service from -40 to 250 degrees F. It measures 8.25 inches inside diameter, 8.5 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross section. Hardness is rated at 90 durometer, placing it in the extra-hard category for applications requiring firm sealing under compression. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in fluid-system work, offering reliable resistance to petroleum-based fluids, hydraulic oils, and fuels. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance mechanics install this type of seal in valve assemblies, pump housings, and pipe fittings where reliable static or dynamic sealing is required.
This O-ring is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial fluid-handling systems where petroleum-product exposure is present. Its large diameter makes it appropriate for pump covers, large valve bonnets, filter housings, and similar high-bore assemblies. The extra-hard 90 durometer rating helps resist extrusion under pressure in applications with wider clearance gaps. Each order is fulfilled in a package quantity of 10 rings, making it practical for stocking or scheduled maintenance work.
Compatible with systems and assemblies that contact petroleum products, hydraulic oils, and similar fluids. Not recommended for exposure to ozone, direct sunlight during storage, or proximity to motors and electrical equipment that generate ozone. FDA approval not applicable for this part.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or qualified mechanical technicians. Always depressurize and isolate the system before replacing an O-ring, and drain any residual fluid from the assembly. Inspect the groove for nicks, burrs, or corrosion before seating the new ring; a damaged groove will cause premature seal failure. Apply a compatible lubricant to the O-ring prior to installation to ease seating and reduce the risk of tearing during assembly.
