The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90252 is a Dash 252 Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N) O-ring used to create reliable seals in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-handling assemblies. It measures 5.25 inches inside diameter, 5.5 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross-section. The compound is rated at 90 durometer, placing it in the extra-hard hardness range, which suits high-pressure and high-wear applications. Rated for service from -40 to 250 degrees F, this O-ring handles both cold-start conditions and elevated operating temperatures commonly seen in industrial and mechanical systems. Installation is performed by maintenance technicians, millwrights, and plumbing or HVAC service professionals.
This O-ring is suited for use in static and dynamic sealing applications where petroleum-based fluids, oils, or fuels are present. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in trade applications and performs well in hydraulic systems, fuel lines, pumps, valves, and fittings. Its extra-hard 90 durometer rating makes it appropriate for assemblies that require resistance to extrusion under pressure. The part is sold in a package quantity of 25 units, making it practical for service fleets or shops that replace O-rings as part of routine maintenance.
Designed for use with petroleum-based products and compatible fluids. Buna-N O-rings in Dash 252 sizing are a standard replacement in hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and fluid fittings requiring a 5.25-inch inside diameter seal. Not FDA approved; not recommended for applications requiring food-grade or ozone-exposed environments. Avoid storage in direct sunlight or near motors or electrical equipment that may generate ozone.
Depressurize and isolate the system before removing any seals or fittings. Clean the seal groove of debris, nicks, and old compound before installing the new O-ring. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid during installation to prevent pinching or tearing. Inspect the mating surfaces for damage that could compromise the seal after installation.
