The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90246 is a Dash 246 O-ring made from Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber), one of the most widely used elastomers in fluid sealing applications. It measures 4.5 inches inside diameter, 4.75 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick, with a cross-sectional shape that is round. Rated at 90 durometer (extra hard), it delivers strong compression set resistance along with excellent tear and abrasion resistance. The temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F makes it suitable for demanding hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-handling assemblies. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of seal in high-wear service environments.
This O-ring is designed for use in systems that handle petroleum-based fluids, including hydraulic oil, fuel, and mineral-oil-based lubricants. Its Buna-N compound provides reliable sealing in residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant circuits, and industrial fluid-transfer assemblies where contact with petroleum products is expected. It is not recommended for use in ozone-rich environments or where direct sunlight exposure is unavoidable during storage or service. Sold in a package quantity of 25, it suits both one-off repairs and bulk service-van restocking.
Designed for use with petroleum-based fluids and compatible with systems requiring a Dash 246 O-ring per SAE and MIL-Spec dimensional standards. Suitable for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and mineral-oil fluid-handling assemblies where Buna-N elastomer is specified.
Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians should de-energize or depressurize the system fully before removing the old O-ring and installing a replacement. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid during installation to prevent tearing during seating. Do not store O-rings near motors, electrical equipment, or in direct sunlight, as ozone and UV exposure degrade Nitrile rubber. Follow applicable IPC and system manufacturer service procedures for groove preparation and proper seating depth.
