The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90228 is a Dash 228 O-ring made from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), one of the most widely used elastomers in fluid sealing applications. It measures 2.25 inches inside diameter, 2.5 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross section. Rated at 90 durometer (extra hard), it delivers firm compression set resistance along with strong tear and abrasion resistance. The temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F suits a broad range of service environments. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals rely on Buna-N O-rings for dependable sealing in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-handling systems.
This O-ring is suited for use in systems that handle petroleum-based fluids, oils, fuels, and lubricants. Its Buna-N compound provides excellent resistance to petroleum products, making it a practical choice for hydraulic fittings, pump housings, valve bodies, and similar assemblies in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. Each package contains 50 O-rings, making it practical for service technicians who replace O-rings as a routine part of equipment maintenance and repair. This item is not FDA approved and should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors or other electrical equipment that may generate ozone.
Designed as a standard Dash 228 O-ring replacement compatible with petroleum-based fluid systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel-handling assemblies where Buna-N elastomer is specified.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified maintenance personnel as part of valve, pump, or fitting service. Always depressurize and drain the system before replacing O-rings. Inspect the groove and mating surfaces for nicks or corrosion before seating the new O-ring. Avoid rolling or twisting the O-ring during installation to prevent damage to the sealing surface.
