The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90223 is a Dash 223 nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications across HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and fluid-handling systems. It measures 1.625 inches inside diameter, 1.875 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross section. Rated at 90 durometer (extra hard), this O-ring handles operating temperatures from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Sold in a pack of 50, it suits shops and service technicians who stock seals for recurring maintenance work. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in the trades and is the standard choice wherever petroleum-based fluids are present.
This O-ring is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications involving petroleum-product media, including hydraulic systems, pneumatic fittings, refrigeration service valves, and plumbing shut-off assemblies. The 90-durometer hardness rating makes it well suited for higher-pressure environments where compression set resistance and abrasion resistance are priorities. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and fluid-system mechanics regularly stock Dash 223 seals for service calls requiring fast seal replacement without custom sourcing.
Compatible with petroleum-product media per manufacturer specification. Designed as a Dash 223 standard O-ring replacement for use in any system calling for a 1.625-inch ID, 1.875-inch OD, 0.125-inch thick Buna-N seal. Not FDA approved; not intended for food-contact or potable-water applications. Store away from direct sunlight, ozone sources, and electrical equipment that may generate ozone.
Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing any fitting or valve cap that retains this seal. Clean the groove and mating surfaces before seating the new O-ring to prevent contamination-driven leakage. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or O-ring lubricant before installation to ease seating and reduce the risk of tearing during assembly. Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician, licensed plumber, or trained fluid-system mechanic in accordance with applicable codes and equipment manufacturer guidelines.
