The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90163 is a Dash 163 O-ring manufactured from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), the most widely used elastomer in sealing applications. It measures 6 inches inside diameter with a 6.188 inch outside diameter and a cross-sectional thickness of 0.094 inches (3/32 inch). The 90 durometer hardness rating places this in the extra-hard range, providing strong resistance to compression set and excellent sealing under pressure. The operating temperature range spans -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a broad range of service conditions in HVAC, plumbing, and fluid handling systems. Licensed tradespeople and maintenance technicians install this O-ring anywhere a round cross-section seal is required in petroleum-compatible assemblies.
This O-ring is suited for use in residential and commercial mechanical systems where petroleum-based fluids, hydraulic oils, or fuels contact the sealing surface. Typical applications include pump housings, valve bodies, pipe unions, manifold fittings, and refrigeration components that do not contact incompatible media such as ozone or certain synthetic fluids. The Buna-N compound delivers reliable tear and abrasion resistance in dynamic and static sealing arrangements. This part is sold in a package quantity of 25 units with a minimum order quantity of 1.
Compatible with petroleum products, hydraulic oils, and similar fluids per the Buna-N material specification. Meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards. Not FDA approved. Should not be used in contact with ozone, strong oxidizers, or media incompatible with Nitrile rubber. Store away from direct sunlight and ozone-generating equipment such as electric motors.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or maintenance mechanics during equipment service or repair. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing or replacing any O-ring seal. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or grease before installation to reduce the risk of tearing during assembly. Avoid rolling or twisting the O-ring into the groove; seat it evenly to ensure a proper seal.
