The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90159 is a Dash 159 O-ring manufactured from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), one of the most widely used elastomers in fluid sealing applications. It measures 5 inches inside diameter, 5.188 inches outside diameter, and 0.094 inches thick, with a round cross section. The durometer rating is 90, placing it in the extra-hard range for applications requiring strong compression set resistance and minimal extrusion under pressure. The temperature range spans -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a broad range of service environments encountered in HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and general mechanical assemblies.
This O-ring is well suited for static and dynamic sealing applications where exposure to petroleum-based fluids, oils, fuels, and hydraulic media is expected. The Buna-N compound delivers excellent resistance to petroleum products along with strong tear and abrasion resistance. Typical installations include pump housings, valve bodies, flanged connections, and fluid fittings in residential and commercial mechanical systems. It should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors and other electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as ozone exposure degrades NBR compound over time. Each package contains 25 O-rings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or maintenance-stock O-ring for any application requiring a Dash 159 cross-section size in Buna-N material, including petroleum-compatible fluid systems in HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and general industrial equipment.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or qualified mechanical technicians. Always depressurize and drain the system before removing or replacing O-rings to prevent fluid release or injury. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or grease prior to seating to reduce the risk of tearing during installation. Do not over-stretch or twist the O-ring during placement, as this can compromise the seal.
