The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90116 is a Dash 116 O-ring manufactured from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), the most widely used elastomer in fluid sealing applications. It measures 0.75 inches inside diameter, 0.938 inches outside diameter, and 0.094 inches thick with a round cross section. Rated at 90 durometer (extra hard), it delivers firm compression set resistance along with strong tear and abrasion resistance. The working temperature range spans -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a broad range of service conditions. Sold in packs of 50, this O-ring is a standard shop and field stocking item for maintenance professionals across plumbing, HVAC, and hydraulic service work.
This O-ring is primarily used in applications involving petroleum-based fluids, oils, fuels, and hydraulic media. Its Buna-N compound provides excellent resistance to petroleum products, making it a go-to seal for valve bodies, pump housings, fittings, and threaded connections encountered in mechanical and fluid system service. It is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications where a Dash 116 standard-size seal is specified. Note that Buna-N O-rings should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors or electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as ozone exposure degrades the elastomer over time.
Designed as a standard Dash 116 O-ring replacement compatible with petroleum-based fluid systems. Suitable for use with petroleum products per manufacturer specifications. Not FDA approved; not intended for food-grade or potable water service without independent verification of local code requirements.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified mechanical service technicians. Always depressurize and drain the system and isolate any fluid supply before removing the existing seal. Inspect the mating groove for burrs, corrosion, or debris before seating the new O-ring. Avoid installing Buna-N O-rings in ozone-rich environments or in proximity to high-voltage electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as this will shorten service life.
