The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90112 is a Dash 112 O-ring made from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), one of the most widely used elastomers in fluid sealing applications. It measures 0.5 inches inside diameter, 0.688 inches outside diameter, and 0.094 inches thick with a round cross section. Rated at 90 durometer, this extra-hard O-ring delivers strong compression set resistance along with excellent tear and abrasion resistance. Rated for service from -40 to 250 degrees F, it is suited for environments involving petroleum-based fluids. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial maintenance professionals regularly install this type of seal in valves, fittings, pumps, and hydraulic components.
This O-ring is appropriate for residential and commercial applications where petroleum-product compatibility is required. Typical install scenarios include refrigerant service valves, hydraulic fittings, pneumatic cylinders, fuel system connections, and general plumbing assemblies where a Dash 112 Buna-N seal is specified. Its temperature range makes it viable in both indoor mechanical rooms and outdoor equipment enclosures. It should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors and other electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as ozone exposure degrades Buna-N compounds over time.
Compatible with petroleum products and petroleum-based fluids. Designed as a standard Dash 112 replacement O-ring for valves, fittings, pumps, and assemblies requiring a 0.5 inches ID Buna-N seal rated to SAE and MIL-Spec standards.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or qualified maintenance personnel. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing or replacing any O-ring seal. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or lubricant prior to installation to prevent tearing during assembly. Do not store unused O-rings near ozone-generating equipment such as electric motors or in direct sunlight, as this degrades the elastomer.
