The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90042 is a Dash 042 Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) O-ring engineered for sealing applications that require resistance to petroleum-based fluids and hydraulic media. Measuring 3.25 inches inside diameter with a 3.375 inch outside diameter and a 0.0625 inch (1/16 inch) cross-section thickness, this O-ring carries a 90 durometer hardness rating, classifying it as extra hard. That elevated hardness improves resistance to extrusion under pressure. The operating temperature range spans -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and mechanical service conditions. Licensed trades and maintenance technicians working with fluid power, pneumatic, or plumbing systems regularly specify this profile.
This O-ring is suited for static and dynamic sealing in applications where contact with petroleum products, oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids is expected. The Buna-N elastomer is the most widely used O-ring material in industrial and mechanical service due to its reliable compression set characteristics and its tear and abrasion resistance. O-ring installation is performed by qualified mechanics, plumbers, or fluid power technicians depending on the system type. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or O-ring lubricant before seating it in the groove to prevent tearing during assembly.
