The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH90010 is a Dash 010 Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N) O-ring sold in a pack of 100. It measures 0.25 inches inside diameter, 0.375 inches outside diameter, and 0.0625 inches thick with a round cross section. Rated at 90 durometer (extra hard), it handles a temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in trade applications, valued for its excellent resistance to petroleum products, strong compression set performance, and solid tear and abrasion resistance. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial mechanics reach for this material first when sealing petroleum-based fluid or refrigerant-side connections.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial HVAC systems, plumbing assemblies, hydraulic circuits, pneumatic fittings, and general mechanical sealing applications where petroleum-based fluids are present. The extra-hard 90 durometer rating makes it appropriate for higher-pressure sealing points where a softer compound would extrude or deform. The 100-piece pack is sized for shop stock or field kits where Dash 010 seals are replaced routinely. This material is not recommended for applications involving ozone, strong oxidizing acids, ketones, esters, aldehydes, or chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Compatible with petroleum products and petroleum-based fluid systems. This O-ring should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors or other electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as ozone degrades Buna-N compounds. Not FDA approved.
Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers should de-pressurize and lock out the system before replacing any O-ring seal. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible petroleum-based or system-approved lubricant during installation to prevent rolling and tearing during assembly. Avoid using sharp tools or excessive force that could nick the sealing surface. Inspect the mating groove for burrs or debris before seating the new ring.
