The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70MD108 is a Dash 108 nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) O-ring with a 0.237-inch inside diameter, 0.437-inch outside diameter, and a 3/32-inch (0.0937-inch) round cross section. Rated at 70 Shore A hardness, this black NBR O-ring operates across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. NBR is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in trade applications, valued for its excellent resistance to petroleum products, strong compression set performance, and solid tear and abrasion resistance. Each package contains 25 O-rings. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors keep this size on hand for routine seal replacements in fluid and gas systems.
The ZMSCH70MD108 is suited for static and dynamic sealing applications in residential and commercial systems where contact with petroleum-based fluids is common. Typical use cases include hydraulic fittings, refrigerant service valves, fuel line connections, compressor ports, and general plumbing seal points. The Dash 108 designation is a standard AN/MS sizing reference, making cross-referencing straightforward for techs sourcing replacements in the field. This O-ring is not FDA approved for food-contact applications. Note that NBR elastomers should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors and other electrical equipment that may generate ozone.
Designed as a standard Dash 108 O-ring replacement compatible with petroleum-based fluid systems. Verify inside diameter, outside diameter, and cross-section dimensions against the existing seal before installation. Not recommended for use with ozone-generating environments, direct sunlight exposure, or food-contact applications.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or mechanical contractors during routine service or component replacement. Always shut off fluid supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing the existing O-ring. Inspect the seating groove for nicks, corrosion, or debris before installing the new ring. Lightly lubricating the O-ring with a compatible petroleum-based lubricant during installation helps prevent twisting and ensures even seating.
