The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70FDA234 is a Dash 234 Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) O-ring with a round cross section, sized at 2.984 inches ID and 3.25 inches OD with a thickness of 0.125 inches. Rated at Shore 70 hardness, this white FDA-approved O-ring is sold in a package of 10. It is designed for static and dynamic sealing applications where contact with petroleum-based fluids is expected. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in trade service, offering excellent compression set resistance along with strong tear and abrasion resistance. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and maintenance mechanics install this part as a sealing component in pumps, valves, fittings, and fluid-handling assemblies.
This O-ring is suited for use in residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigeration lines, hydraulic systems, and industrial fluid-handling equipment where petroleum product compatibility is required. The FDA-approved white Buna-N compound makes it appropriate for applications subject to food-contact regulations or sanitary standards. It meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards, supporting use across both commercial trade and light industrial environments. The Dash 234 designation is a standard AS568 sizing reference used across a wide range of OEM and aftermarket seal applications.
Designed as a standard Dash 234 replacement O-ring compatible with petroleum products and systems where Buna-N elastomer is specified. Compatible material includes petroleum-based fluids. Should not be used in applications exposed to direct sunlight, ozone sources, or electrical equipment that generates ozone.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified mechanics during valve, pump, or fitting service. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing the old O-ring. Lubricate the O-ring lightly with a compatible fluid or O-ring lubricant before seating to prevent damage during assembly. Do not store O-rings in direct sunlight or near motors and other equipment that may generate ozone, as this can degrade the elastomer over time.
