The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70358 is a Dash 358 O-ring manufactured from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR, also known as Buna-N) with a round cross-section profile. It measures 5.625 inches inside diameter, 6.000 inches outside diameter, and 0.1875 inches (3/16 inches) thick. Shore A hardness is rated at 70, placing it in the hard durometer range. This O-ring is designed to seal against petroleum-based fluids and is a standard choice for hydraulic systems, fuel systems, pneumatic assemblies, and general industrial plumbing connections. Installation is typically performed by plumbers, millwrights, hydraulic technicians, or HVAC service technicians working on refrigerant or oil-circuit connections. Each package contains 5 O-rings.
This O-ring is suited for static and dynamic sealing applications where petroleum product resistance is required. Its operating temperature range spans from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for a broad range of residential and commercial fluid-handling systems. The NBR compound meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards, supporting use in both commercial equipment and military-spec assemblies. It is not FDA approved, so it should not be used in food-contact or potable water applications. Compatible fluids include petroleum oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids commonly found in HVAC oil systems, compressors, and industrial piping.
Compatible with petroleum products, oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids. Not recommended for use with ozone, strong acids, ketones, esters, or chlorinated solvents. Not for potable water or food-contact applications (not FDA approved). Suitable as a replacement or service O-ring wherever a Dash 358 NBR 70 durometer O-ring is specified.
O-ring installation should be performed by a qualified technician following system-specific lockout/tagout procedures — depressurize and de-energize the system fully before servicing any sealed connection. Inspect the mating groove and sealing surfaces for nicks, burrs, or contamination before seating the O-ring. Apply a compatible lubricant (petroleum-based for NBR compounds) to ease installation and prevent tearing during assembly. Do not store unused O-rings in direct sunlight or near motors or electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as ozone degrades NBR compounds.
