The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70282 is a Dash 282 O-ring manufactured from Buna-N (nitrile butadiene rubber), the most widely used elastomer in sealing applications. It measures 16 inches inside diameter, 16.25 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross section. Rated at 70 Shore A hardness, this O-ring delivers reliable sealing across a working temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. It is suited for use in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-transfer systems where contact with petroleum-based media is expected. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians commonly install this size in large-bore assemblies and flanged connections.
This O-ring is appropriate for residential and commercial applications involving petroleum-product-compatible sealing. Typical install scenarios include pipe flanges, pump housings, valve bodies, and large-diameter fittings where a standard Dash 282 cross-section profile is required. It meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards, making it suitable for demanding mechanical and fluid-system environments. Compatible materials include petroleum products and petroleum-based hydraulic fluids. Each package contains 2 O-rings, and the minimum order quantity is 1 package.
Designed as a standard Dash 282 O-ring replacement compatible with petroleum-product service environments; verify groove dimensions against the 16-inch ID, 16.25-inch OD, and 0.125-inch cross-section specification before installation. Not FDA approved. Store away from direct sunlight, motors, and ozone-generating electrical equipment.
Plumbers, pipefitters, or industrial mechanics typically install large-bore O-rings of this size. Shut down and depressurize the system completely before disassembly and seal replacement. Inspect the mating groove for burrs, corrosion, or deformation prior to seating the new O-ring. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible petroleum-based or system-fluid lubricant during installation to prevent rolling or tearing during assembly.
