The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70266 is a Dash 266 O-ring manufactured from Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber), the most widely used elastomer in fluid sealing applications. It measures 8 inches inside diameter, 8.25 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross-section profile. Rated at 70 Shore A hardness, this O-ring delivers strong resistance to petroleum-based fluids, good compression set performance, and solid tear and abrasion resistance. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial mechanics install this size in larger-diameter pipe flanges, pump housings, and fluid system components where a dependable static or dynamic seal is required. Sold in a package of 5.
This O-ring is suited for sealing applications in residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, pool and spa equipment, and general industrial fluid systems where contact with petroleum products, oils, or fuels is expected. The Buna-N compound performs across a wide service temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for both cold-weather installations and moderate-heat environments. It should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors and electrical equipment that generate ozone, as ozone exposure degrades nitrile rubber over time.
Compatible with petroleum products, hydraulic oils, fuels, and similar hydrocarbon-based media. Designed as a standard Dash 266 O-ring replacement for use in any groove or fitting engineered to the Dash 266 dimension spec.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or mechanical technicians during pump, valve, or flange service. Always depressurize and drain the system before removing or installing O-rings. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or O-ring lubricant before seating to prevent nicking or rolling during assembly. Do not use petroleum-incompatible lubricants or expose the installed O-ring to fluids outside its rated media compatibility.
