The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70243 is a Dash 243 O-ring manufactured from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), the most widely used elastomer in fluid sealing applications. It measures 4.125 inches inside diameter, 4.375 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross section. Rated at 70 Shore A hardness, this O-ring delivers excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids, reliable compression set performance, and strong tear and abrasion resistance. It operates across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals specify Buna-N O-rings for hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-handling systems where petroleum product exposure is a primary concern.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial applications involving petroleum-based oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, and similar media. Typical install scenarios include pump seals, valve bodies, pipe fittings, and fluid line connections across plumbing, HVAC, and general industrial equipment. The Dash 243 designation is a standard AS568 size used across a broad range of OEM and aftermarket sealing applications. Packaged in quantities of 50 per unit, it is well-suited for shops and service fleets that require stock on hand for routine maintenance and repair work.
Compatible with petroleum products including oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids. Not recommended for use with ozone-generating environments, direct sunlight exposure, or near motors and electrical equipment that may produce ozone. Not FDA approved.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified maintenance mechanics. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any O-ring seal. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or assembly lubricant prior to seating to avoid tearing during installation. Inspect the mating groove for debris, burrs, or corrosion before placing the new seal.
