The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70238 is a Dash 238 O-ring made from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR), also known as Buna-N, the most widely used elastomer in fluid sealing applications. It features a 3.5-inch inside diameter, a 3.75-inch outside diameter, and a 0.125-inch round cross-section thickness. The durometer hardness is rated at 70, placing it in the hard range for reliable compression set resistance. This O-ring is suited for plumbing, HVAC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems where petroleum-based fluids are present. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians typically install this part during equipment assembly or service.
This O-ring is designed for static and dynamic sealing applications involving petroleum-based fluids and lubricants. It performs across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for a broad range of residential and commercial system environments. The round cross-section and standardized Dash 238 sizing make it a direct fit wherever an AN or MS Dash 238 O-ring is specified. It meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards. Sold in packages of 50 with a minimum order quantity of 1.
Compatible with petroleum products and systems requiring a Dash 238 standard O-ring. Suitable for use in HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies where NBR elastomer and Dash 238 sizing are specified. Not FDA approved; not recommended for food-grade or ozone-heavy environments.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician following applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC depending on the application. De-pressurize and shut off fluid supply to the system before removing or replacing any sealing components. Avoid twisting the O-ring during installation, and do not expose it to direct sunlight or electrical equipment that may generate ozone during storage or service. Inspect the seating groove for nicks or debris before installing the new O-ring.
