The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70026 is a Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) O-ring with a round cross section, sized at 1.25 inches inside diameter, 1.375 inches outside diameter, and 0.0625 inches thick. It carries a Dash 026 designation and a Shore A hardness of 70, placing it in the hard hardness rating category. Nitrile is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in trade applications, valued for its excellent resistance to petroleum-based fluids, strong compression set retention, and solid tear and abrasion resistance. Licensed trades including plumbers, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system technicians commonly stock this size for fluid sealing work across a broad range of service calls.
This O-ring is suited for static and dynamic sealing applications involving petroleum products, oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids. It operates reliably across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for both refrigeration-side low-temperature service and standard hot-fluid plumbing and HVAC applications. It should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors and other electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as ozone degrades nitrile compounds over time. This listing is sold as a pack of 100 pieces, making it practical for shop stock or high-volume service operations.
Designed for use in grooves and fittings sized to the Dash 026 standard (1.25 inches ID, 1.375 inches OD, 0.0625 inches thick). Compatible with petroleum products, mineral oils, hydraulic fluids, and similar media. Not recommended for use with ozone-rich environments, strong acids, ketones, or highly polar solvents. Conforms to SAE and MIL-Spec dimensional standards.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or hydraulic equipment technicians. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing the existing seal or inserting a new O-ring. Lightly lubricating the O-ring with a compatible fluid or O-ring lubricant during installation reduces the risk of pinching or tearing. Inspect the mating groove for burrs, corrosion, or dimensional damage before seating the new ring.
