The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH1.6X7.1 is a Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications across HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and general industrial systems. It measures 7.1 inches inside diameter, 10.3 inches outside diameter, and 1.6 inches thick with a round cross section. The material carries a Shore A hardness rating of 70, making it a hard-durometer elastomer well suited to pressure-bearing seals. Operating temperature range spans -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Buna-N is the most widely used O-ring elastomer in the trades and is the standard choice wherever petroleum-based fluids, oils, or fuels are present in the system.
This O-ring is appropriate for residential and commercial applications including pump housings, valve bodies, compressor end caps, pipe flanges, and filter canisters that see petroleum-product exposure. Its large inside diameter makes it a common fitment in industrial-scale pumps, large-bore hydraulic cylinders, and commercial HVAC refrigeration components. The 1.6-inch cross section provides substantial sealing surface area, which is important in high-vibration or high-pressure service conditions. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and millwrights are the typical installers. The part is sold in packages of 100 units, with a minimum order quantity of 1 package.
Compatible with petroleum products and petroleum-based fluids. Designed for use in systems where Buna-N elastomers are specified. Not recommended for exposure to direct sunlight during storage or use near motors and electrical equipment that may generate ozone. Not FDA approved.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or industrial mechanics as part of pump, valve, or compressor service. Before replacing the O-ring, relieve all system pressure and shut off fluid supply to the affected assembly. Clean the groove and mating surfaces thoroughly to remove debris, old elastomer material, and contaminants before seating the new O-ring. Refer to the equipment manufacturer's service documentation for groove tolerances and lubrication requirements; do not over-stretch the ring during installation.
