Product Description

The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH1.6X10.1 is a large-diameter Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) o-ring designed for sealing applications in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid-handling systems. With a 10.1-inch inside diameter, a 13.3-inch outside diameter, and a 1.6-inch cross-section thickness, this o-ring fits large-bore fittings, valve bodies, pump housings, and manifold assemblies. The round cross-section profile provides consistent compression and reliable sealing across a wide range of static and dynamic applications. Hardness is rated at 70 Shore A, which falls in the hard range and provides good resistance to extrusion under pressure. Licensed trades including plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians regularly specify Buna-N o-rings for general-purpose sealing work.

This o-ring is suited for residential and commercial service environments where contact with petroleum-based fluids, oils, fuels, and hydraulic media is expected. Buna-N is the most widely used o-ring elastomer in the trades and performs reliably across a broad temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Typical install scenarios include pump seals, valve stem seals, pipe flange gaskets, and equipment access covers in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial fluid systems. The part is sold in a pack of 100, making it practical for shop stock or fleet service operations.

Key Features

  • Buna-N (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) construction with excellent resistance to petroleum products
  • 70 Shore A hardness rating provides strong compression set resistance and tear and abrasion resistance
  • Operating temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F suits most HVAC and plumbing service conditions
  • Round cross-section profile ensures consistent sealing in standard o-ring grooves
  • Meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards
  • Pack of 100 units supports shop inventory and multi-unit service calls

Compatibility

Compatible with petroleum-based fluids, oils, fuels, and hydraulic media. Not FDA approved. Should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors or other electrical equipment that may generate ozone. Designed as an OEM-style replacement o-ring for large-bore sealing applications requiring a 10.1-inch inside diameter Buna-N seal conforming to SAE and MIL-Spec standards.

Installation Notes

Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing any o-ring seal, and confirm the groove dimensions match the o-ring cross-section to prevent improper seating. Lightly lubricate the o-ring with a compatible fluid or assembly grease before installation to prevent tearing during fitment. Do not install this o-ring in systems where ozone-generating equipment or direct UV exposure is a concern, as Buna-N is susceptible to ozone degradation.
