The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCE70437 is an EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) O-ring with a round cross section, designed for static and dynamic sealing applications in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial fluid systems. It measures 6 inches inside diameter, 6.5 inches outside diameter, and 0.25 inches thick, conforming to Dash 437 sizing. With a Shore A hardness of 70 (hard rating), this O-ring provides reliable compression sealing across a working temperature range of -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of seal in hot water, steam, and hydraulic fluid applications.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial plumbing and mechanical systems where hot water and steam exposure is common. It is also recommended for use with phosphate ester type hydraulic fluids and demonstrates excellent resistance to Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems. Typical install scenarios include flanged pipe connections, pump housings, valve bodies, and pressure vessel covers where a large-diameter face seal is required. Each package contains 6 O-rings. This is not FDA-approved and should not be used in food-contact applications.
Designed for use with hot water, steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluid systems. Also recommended for applications involving Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems. Not compatible with mineral oil-based fluids or petroleum-based hydraulic oils, which degrade EPDM. Not FDA approved; not suitable for food or potable water contact applications.
Installation of large-diameter O-rings should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified mechanic. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing the old seal. Inspect the O-ring groove for scoring, corrosion, or dimensional damage before installing the new seal. Avoid using petroleum-based lubricants on EPDM O-rings; use a compatible silicone or water-based lubricant only.
