The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCE70312 is a Dash 312 EPDM O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications where exposure to hot water, steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids is expected. Measuring 0.625 inches inside diameter, 1.000 inches outside diameter, and 0.1875 inches thick, this round cross-section ring carries a Shore A hardness rating of 70, placing it in the hard durometer range. EPDM construction provides reliable chemical resistance across a working temperature range of -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F. Each order includes a package quantity of 70 rings, making it practical for shop stock or field kit replenishment.
This O-ring is suited for plumbing, HVAC, and hydraulic maintenance tasks where hot water service, steam lines, or phosphate ester fluid systems are involved. It is also noted for excellent resistance to Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems, making it a relevant choice for aviation ground-support and MRO applications. The Dash 312 designation follows standard AS568 sizing, allowing straightforward cross-referencing on seal kits and service manuals. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, hydraulic system techs, and MRO mechanics are the primary installers.
Compatible sealing media include hot water, steam, and phosphate ester type hydraulic fluids. Suitable for applications specifying a Dash 312 round cross-section O-ring in EPDM material with 70 durometer hardness.
De-energize or depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any O-ring seal. Inspect the groove and mating surfaces for nicks, burrs, or contamination prior to installation. Lubricate the ring with a compatible lubricant that is approved for use with EPDM and the system fluid involved — petroleum-based greases are not compatible with EPDM and must not be used. Follow applicable plumbing or hydraulic system codes and manufacturer torque specifications for the fitting or housing being sealed.
