The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCE70201 is a Dash 201 EPDM O-ring used to create static or dynamic fluid seals in plumbing, HVAC, hydraulic, and industrial service applications. It measures 0.188 inches inside diameter, 0.438 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick with a round cross section. The compound is ethylene propylene diene monomer, rated at 70 durometer on the Shore A scale. This hardness rating places it in the hard category, giving it resistance to extrusion under moderate pressure. The temperature range runs from -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F, making it suitable for steam and hot-water service where many other elastomers fail. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system technicians are the typical installers.
This O-ring is well suited for hot-water lines, steam connections, and phosphate ester type hydraulic fluid circuits. It also carries noted resistance to Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems, making it a cross-industry seal solution. In HVAC and plumbing trade work, it commonly appears in valve bodies, union fittings, pump flanges, and equipment ports where steam or hot water is present. Each package contains 85 pieces, supporting service van stock or shop bench inventory at a useful quantity for high-volume seal replacement work.
Designed for use with hot water, steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluid systems. Compatible material list includes hot water, steam, and phosphate ester fluids as specified by the manufacturer. Not FDA approved; not intended for food or potable-water contact applications without independent verification.
Isolate and depressurize the system before replacing any O-ring seal. Plumbers and HVAC technicians should follow applicable IPC and IFGC code requirements for the system being serviced. Inspect the groove and mating surface for scoring or debris before seating the new ring; a damaged groove will shorten seal life regardless of O-ring quality. Do not use petroleum-based lubricants with EPDM seals, as they will cause the compound to swell and fail prematurely.
