The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCE70136 is a Dash 136 EPDM O-ring with a round cross section, designed for static and dynamic sealing applications in plumbing, HVAC, and hydraulic systems. It measures 2 inches inside diameter, 2.188 inches outside diameter, and 0.094 inches thick. Made from Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) compound at a Shore A hardness of 70, this O-ring handles a working temperature range of -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors install this type of seal where compatibility with hot water, steam, or phosphate ester hydraulic fluids is required.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems, hydronic heating equipment, steam service applications, and phosphate ester type hydraulic systems. The EPDM compound also provides excellent resistance to Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems, making it a valid choice for aerospace ground support and MRO applications. Each order unit is a package of 40 pieces, providing enough quantity for multi-point sealing jobs or ongoing service inventory. It is not FDA approved and is not recommended for petroleum-based fluid contact.
Compatible with hot water, steam, and phosphate ester type hydraulic fluid systems. Also rated for use in applications involving Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems. Not compatible with petroleum-based oils or fuels.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC mechanics, or hydraulic system technicians. Depressurize and drain the system before removing the old O-ring and inspect the groove for scoring or corrosion that could compromise the seal. Lubricate the O-ring with a fluid compatible with EPDM prior to installation — do not use petroleum-based lubricants. Follow applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC when installing in gas, water, or hydronic piping systems.
