The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCA80208 is a Dash 208 Aflas O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications that demand resistance to extreme temperatures and aggressive chemical environments. With an inside diameter of 0.625 inches, an outside diameter of 0.875 inches, and a cross-section thickness of 0.125 inches, this O-ring carries an 80 durometer hardness rating, placing it in the hard range for firm, reliable compression set performance. Aflas, a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and propylene, delivers notably broad chemical compatibility and maintains integrity across a working temperature range of 25 to 450 degrees F. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial maintenance professionals use this O-ring where standard nitrile or EPDM compounds fall short.
This O-ring is suited for sealing duties in refrigeration and HVAC systems, hydraulic circuits, fuel handling equipment, and chemical process plumbing. Its Aflas compound shows moderate resistance to petroleum products along with good ozone and weather resistance, making it a practical choice for outdoor or exposure-prone assemblies. It is rated compatible with acetic acid, animal oils, bases, brake fluids, fuels, and hydraulic oil. Aflas O-rings are also recognized for their performance when sealing refrigeration fluids including Freon-class refrigerants, a common requirement in commercial refrigeration and HVAC service work. Sold in packages of 10.
Designed as a Dash 208 standard O-ring replacement for grooves requiring a 0.625-inch inside diameter and 0.125-inch cross-section thickness in refrigeration, hydraulic, fuel, and chemical sealing applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician, plumber, or industrial mechanic following applicable system lockout and pressure-relief procedures before disassembly. De-pressurize and evacuate the system fully before removing the old O-ring and inspect the groove for nicks or debris that could compromise the seal. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with a compatible lubricant before seating to reduce installation stress and avoid twisting. Verify groove dimensions match Dash 208 specifications before installation to ensure proper compression and sealing.
