The VALUE COLLECTION XNB09100 is a Schedule 80 black steel pipe nipple rated for demanding piping applications in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial systems. It measures 2 inches in diameter and 10 inches in length, with a 2-inch outside diameter and heavy-wall Schedule 80 construction. The nipple is available in both seamless and welded configurations, making it suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature service where wall thickness and material integrity matter. Weighing approximately 3.97 pounds, this nipple is built for robust threaded connections. It meets ANSI B1.20.1 and ASME B1.20.1 thread standards and is manufactured to ASTM A106 and ASTM A53 material specifications. Lead-free construction supports compliance with applicable potable water and mechanical codes.
This pipe nipple is used in residential and commercial piping systems for gas, steam, water, and compressed air service. Schedule 80 wall thickness makes it a preferred choice in higher-pressure applications compared to Schedule 40. It is commonly installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms, and industrial process piping. The black finish is standard for gas and steam applications. NPT threads conform to ANSI B1.20.1, ensuring compatibility with standard threaded fittings and valves.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 threaded black steel piping systems using 2-inch NPT connections in mechanical, plumbing, and industrial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes including the IPC and IFGC. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded nipple. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service medium before making up threaded connections. Do not over-torque threaded joints, as this can damage fittings or compromise the seal.
