The VALUE COLLECTION XNB07110 is a Schedule 80 black steel pipe nipple used to create threaded pipe connections in plumbing, mechanical, and industrial piping systems. Measuring 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 11 inches in length, this nipple is constructed to seamless and welded standards and carries a black finish coating. At 2.62 pounds, it is a solid, heavy-wall fitting suited for higher-pressure applications where Schedule 40 wall thickness is insufficient. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in water, steam, gas, and hydronic heating systems. It meets ANSI B1.20.1, ASME B1.20.1, ASTM A106, and ASTM A53 standards and is confirmed lead free.
This Schedule 80 black pipe nipple is appropriate for residential and commercial piping installations where threaded steel connections are required. Common applications include gas distribution lines, hydronic heating supply and return piping, compressed air headers, and industrial process piping. The 1-1/4 inch nominal pipe size fits standard NPT threaded fittings and valves of the same diameter. The black finish is typical for above-grade gas and hydronic piping where corrosion protection is provided by the pipe compound or additional coating applied at installation.
Designed as a standard NPT-threaded replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with 1-1/4 inch Schedule 80 black steel pipe systems using standard threaded fittings, couplings, and valves.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Plumbing Code, or the International Fuel Gas Code as relevant to the service. Shut off and depressurize the affected pipe system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns for the pipe size per standard practice. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as this can crack fittings or distort threads.
