The VALUE COLLECTION XNB05070 is a black steel pipe nipple used to connect two threaded pipe fittings or extend a piping run in gas, steam, or liquid service systems. This nipple measures 3/4 inch nominal diameter and 7 inches in length, built to Schedule 80 wall thickness for higher pressure ratings compared to Schedule 40. The seamless and welded construction meets ASTM A106 and ASTM A53 standards. Threaded ends conform to ANSI B1.20.1 and ASME B1.20.1 NPT specifications. It is a standard component installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians in both residential and commercial piping systems.
This pipe nipple is suited for use in gas distribution lines, hydronic heating systems, steam piping, and general plumbing applications where a short threaded extension is needed between fittings, valves, or equipment connections. The Schedule 80 rating makes it appropriate for moderate-to-high pressure service. The 7-inch length accommodates installations requiring a close-to-standard run between threaded components without field cutting or custom fabrication. Lead-free construction makes it compliant for use in potable water and food-service adjacent plumbing where required by local code.
Designed as a standard NPT-threaded Schedule 80 black steel pipe nipple compatible with 3/4 inch threaded pipe fittings, valves, unions, and couplings used in residential and commercial gas, steam, and liquid piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local mechanical and plumbing codes, including IFGC requirements for gas service. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded pipe component. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service type to all NPT threads before assembly. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as this can damage fitting threads or cause stress cracks in cast fittings.
