The VALUE COLLECTION WS-MH-WIRE-044 is a 1/8-inch diameter galvanized steel wire rope rated to a 2,000-pound breaking strength. Built with a 7 x 19 strand core construction, this rope delivers flexibility alongside tensile strength, making it a practical choice for rigging, lifting, and support applications across multiple trades. The hot-dip galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in outdoor and high-moisture environments. At 14.47 pounds per unit, it offers substantial length for large-scale installs or repeated cuts to length on the job site. Electricians, riggers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors regularly work with this gauge of wire rope for overhead support, cable runs, and equipment hanging.
This wire rope is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a flexible, corrosion-resistant cable is required. Common use cases include messenger wire for conduit and cable tray support, equipment hanging in mechanical rooms, fall protection anchor lines, and general-purpose rigging. The 7 x 19 construction — 7 strands of 19 wires each — provides greater flexibility than 7 x 7 construction, making it easier to route around bends and through pulleys without kinking. It is particularly well suited for dynamic load applications where the rope must move or flex during service.
Designed as a general-purpose galvanized wire rope compatible with standard 1/8-inch wire rope fittings, thimbles, clips, and swage terminals used in rigging and cable support applications.
Installation of wire rope in structural, rigging, or fall-protection applications should be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with applicable OSHA regulations and industry standards. Always use properly rated end fittings, clips, or swaged terminals rated for the wire rope diameter and load. Inspect cut ends and apply seizing wire or end caps to prevent fraying. De-energize any nearby electrical systems before working overhead in electrical or mechanical spaces.
